Blue Error

The project.

Volery Gallery is pleased to present Blue Error, the first solo exhibition in the Middle East by French multidisciplinary artist Julien Boudet . Known for his conceptual investigations into the aesthetics of luxury, consumerism, and counterfeit culture, Boudet brings to Dubai a new body of work that examines the rupture between contemporary aspiration and systemic collapse.

Blue Error takes its title from the infamous blue screen of death, a universal symbol of technological failure. In this series, Boudet uses that metaphor as a lens to reflect on a broader cultural breakdown. Through photography, sculptural assemblage, and recontextualized objects, the artist captures a world frozen mid-crash. Luxury vehicles appear dismantled, fashion items are rendered obsolete, and status symbols are reframed as digital-era relics—distorted, degraded, or displaced. These compositions echo the moment when a system stops responding, holding up a mirror to a society grappling with overconsumption, climate anxiety, and ideological fatigue.
