Curator, art dealer and founder. A practice shaped by artists, and the places where art meets life.
Rom Levy is a French curator based in Dubai. His work moves between contemporary art and urban culture: from publishing artists’ stories to developing exhibitions, public commissions and editions.
Working with artists since 2005, Rom founded StreetArtNews in 2009. The publication became a way of documenting a scene, connecting its artists and bringing work from cities around the world to a wider audience.
Exhibitions and editions followed. Through RexRomae, he developed projects in temporary spaces; through public art, he worked at the scale of a city. Today, Volery Gallery in Dubai extends that practice through an international contemporary art programme.
The connection between these activities is a sustained relationship with artists: helping an idea find its form, its setting and its audience.
